Google to merge Maps, Waze teams as cost-cutting move

Google plans to mix the workforce engaged on the mapping service Waze with the group overseeing the corporate’s Maps product, because the search big faces stress to streamline operations and lower prices.

Google plans to merge Waze’s greater than 500 workers with the corporate’s Geo group, which oversees the Maps, Earth and Street View merchandise, starting on Friday, in accordance with a Google spokeswoman.
