Halibut. All pictures courtesy of Burley and the National Park Service
If angling isn’t your robust swimsuit, the National Park Service has an answer to reeling in your subsequent large catch. Swap your fishing line for yarn and crochet a halibut or walleye with easy patterns courtesy of ranger Hailey Burley. Referencing the aquatic inhabitants of Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve and Voyageurs National Park, the DIY tasks to supply a playful approach to have interaction with the setting and the creatures residing in these areas.
The two freshwater fish are a part of a rising assortment of patterns designed by rangers, together with a round, ridged pillow to imitate the lava circulate of El Malpais National Monument and one other to sew the crustacean often known as Triops.
Burley tells Colossal that she’s working in Glacier Bay National Park this summer time and hopes to launch further patterns reflective of the Alaskan setting. Keep a watch on the service’s site for updates.
