Hardik, Savita are Players of The Year at Hockey India’s annual awards

Hardik Singh and Savita Punia walked away with the Balbir Singh Sr. Award for the Player of the Year 2022 and ₹25 lakh every on the fifth Hockey India annual awards right here on Friday.

The awards, held after a niche of three years — initially on account of Covid-19 after which administrative points throughout the federation — noticed your complete Indian group — males, ladies, senior and junior — in attendance together with legends of the sport.

Former India captain and Olympian Gurbux Singh was honoured with the Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award. Total prize cash in extra of ₹2.7 crores was awarded throughout the 2 years.

The winners: 2021:Lifetime Achievement Award (₹30 lakh): Amit Singh Bakshi.
